Job Title - Credit Controller

Location - Carlisle

Hours - Full time, Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week

Salary - Circa £25k DOE

We are working exclusively with our client who is a leading designer and supplier of architectural door hardware. They are currently looking to expand their finance team and recruit a credit controller to join them.

Reporting to the finance business partner, the main responsibilities of the role include:

- Responsibility for customer accounts, ensuring payments are received on time and chasing outstanding invoices as necessary
- Reviewing credit limits to ensure minimum risk to the business, whilst enabling sales to perform their role in accordance with agreed procedures
- Inputting purchase orders onto their finance system
- Ensuring supplier contact details are kept up to date
- Work with key departments to implement and maintain processes, with a desire to reduce requirements for a credit
- Provide reports on a regular basis (monthly and quarterly) including analysis of information. In terms of debtor days etc
- Support the wider Finance team, particularly in relation to covering absences such as holiday and sickness
- Work in accordance with their company values of ‘Do the right thing’, ‘’Never stop growing’ and ‘make it happen’ in regards to both external customers and internal colleagues
- Work in accordance with their health and safety policy, ensuring a safety first attitude at all times.

About you:

- Proven track record in terms of debt management and credit control
- Process driven, ideally with an understanding of the industry and products
- Able to prioritise own workload, ensuring targets are achieved and information regularly communicated back constructively to internal departments
- Team player, able to prioritise the needs of the department over individual tasks
- Customer focused and resilient - able to manage challenging situations effectively
- Strong communicator, ensuring all customers and departments are informed and involved as necessary
- Sound IT skills including Microsoft packages and internal systems such as Orderwise and Sage 50
