**Caretaker and Site Maintenance Officer**

This role will be in charge of maintaining the high standard of our facilities, providing an environment which enhances the learning for our learners. This is a physical job requiring initiative and skills. The duties are listed below and not limited to.

The role will have a 6-month probationary period.

**Role Requirements**
- 2 years relevant experience in maintenance/repair work.
- 1 year experience in line management.
- GSCE or equivalent in English and Maths or working towards.
- IT literate: Microsoft Word, Excel. & PowerPoint.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work without supervision.
- Be able to work independently and within a team.
- Ability to prioritise workload effectively.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proactive, self-motivated, can-do attitude.
- Ability to work dynamically and think creatively.
- Enhanced DBS clearance.

**Role Responsibilities (not limited to)**
- Safe and secure opening & closing site, and access security.
- Planned and reactive maintenance schedule, carry out day-to-day maintenance activities and repairs.
- Ensure heating, lighting, sewage and alarm systems are checked regularly to ensure they are operational.
- To receive deliveries of stores, including teaching supplies, materials and other goods, and arrange storage with relevant staff.
- Site safety including various drills e.g. fire & evacuation.
- Line management of the on-site cleaner and minibus driver.
- To assist with keeping an inventory of tools and power equipment and ensure they are kept in good repair in line with current legislation.
- To accompany outside contractors and other workers having business on the premises where necessary.
- Health and Safety Officer - support the prevention of injuries, accidents and work-related illnesses in the workplace.
- Oversee the cleaning standards and be up to date with COSHH requirements and the H&S needs around this.
