This is an exciting opportunity to use and develop your financial, analysis and communication skills within a dynamic and growing Urgent and Primary Care Provider. Working within the Commercial Team, this is a varied, flexible role, where you will be supportedto enhance your wide range of business analysis skills enabling you to make a real difference to service development and delivery.
As a Commercial Analyst you will report to the Commercial Modeller who you will actively support with the planning and delivery of technical models for all HUC commercial procurements and proposals. This will involve the commercial and financial evaluationof new business opportunities, as well as providing analytical review of current HUC contracts, whilst managing good relationships internally across HUC directorates and with wider external stakeholders.
You will look to develop and grow within the role and with ongoing training from the Commercial Modeller you will support all commercial modelling activity including ad-hoc requests, as well as large, more complex projects and procurements. You will integrateinputs from across teams, be responsible for data quality, perform analysis and sensitivities, and prepare and review outputs as part of HUCs commercial process.
Using your excellent communication skills, you will be required to interact across HUC’s various teams to actively share knowledge, models and techniques and ensure learnings are embedded into future workings and communicated effectively across the team.
In addition, you will work with the wider Commercial Team actively contributing to and supporting delivery of a number of strategies, helping HUC to expand into new service types, and in new and existing geographical areas. This is an important role, providingresilience and supporting the business to grow in order to meet wider organisational goals.
**Principle Responsibilities and Duties will Include**:
- Responsibility for the development of high quality, profitable commercial models across all current geographic areas and new locations, working with the internal stakeholders
- Ability to assess risks, opportunities and financial sensitivities within a proactive opportunity or tender and adequately reflect these in the modelling with appropriate tolerances
- Responsibility for following and improving standard processes, templates and financial models which underpin all facets of business development to ensure the modelling process is easily scalable
- Supporting contract negotiations and remodelling the services as required
- Delegated responsibility for managing the costing inputs into the Development Process whereby the commercial opportunity for each proposal is understood by the members of the Executive Team prior to 'sign off’ and that the financial risks of proceedingwith proposals are clearly explained and accepted.
- Be clear on assumptions used with the modelling to ensure these are understood, and are kept to, or factored in should due diligence change the assumption
- Responsibility for ensuring the Finance Business Partners have had appropriate involvement in the sign off of the opportunity
- Ensuring that all commercial models are developed with consideration of appropriate governance needs; workforce planning, accommodation, IT, marketing, property requirements and those models are discussed with stream leads and robust
- Responsibility for the commercial model for proactive and tender opportunities throughout mobilisation to ensure continuity and a safe hand over to the appropriate Finance Business Partner at go live and providing on-going support if required
- Development of commercial models to sell to other organisations
- Possess good communication skills in order to deliver presentations of financial analysis / models to people from a range of functional areas as well as varying levels of seniority
- An inquisitive mindset with the confidence and judgement to appropriately challenge perceived and existing wisdom using robust analysis is also necessary
- Identify opportunities for improvements to enable tasks to be performed in a more efficient manner and challenge current processes appropriately with suggestions as to how these can be refined
- You will strive to continuously improve the statistical validity and efficiency of all modelling assumptions and techniques
- Maintaining good customer relationships and always representing HUC in a professional manner
- Thinking strategically - seeing the bigger picture and contributing to setting aims and objectives for the role in order to improving the business development processes and increase opportunities and business intelligence
- Working strategically - carrying out necessary planning to find the best solutions to gathering the data and information required to enable and support growth
- Develop and maintain a good understanding of the businesses' products and services
**Shared Commercial Directorate Responsibilities**
- Ensure learning is shared across the business
- Undertake specific additional projects as required
- Respond to national modernisation policy and guidance in developing appropriate service models.
- Keep abreast of all policy developments to ensure we are able to communicate the relevance of the HUC’s business model within the changing NHS context
