To lead and develop the Personal Injury Department (PI) to meet the needs of our clients and deliver Fletchers strategies and plans for Personal Injury.

**Main Responsibilities for the role**:
**1.Strategy & Leadership**
- Ensure that the team provides excellent client service
- Ensure that the team achieves their agreed performance targets by using consistent and clear leadership in the management of individuals KPIs
- Ensure the progression of all cases in team up to the point of settlement
- Provide inspirational leadership to PI including recruitment, motivation, training and supporting of team members as required
- Implement and monitor departmental plans to deliver Fletchers priorities including Project Arrow across PI
- Support the budgeting process for PI

**2.People Management**
- Lead the PI department directly managing the Team Leaders
- Coach, develop and support managers to achieve excellent people leadership practice
- Work with the People team to optimise the recruitment and retention of lawyers in the department
- Role model Fletchers Values

**3.Technical**
- Provide advice and guidance on any PI issues
- Ensure departmental policies and procedures are followed to ensure cases are progressed appropriately and client satisfaction is delivered
- Work with internal and external partners to ensure the department delivers quality legal services with unrivalled client care in a compliant way

**4.Case Handling**
- To run a reduced load of circa. 25% of a full capacity numbers varying in value and technicality Liaising with clients, experts, barristers, third party solicitors and insurers as necessary.
- Dealing with all aspects of pre and post issue procedures in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Pursuing cases to conclusion.
- Ensuring all actions as per Proclaim Action List are completed in a timely fashion.
- Accurate time recording.
- Maintaining client files in good order in accordance with Lexcel and other quality assurance requirements.
- Delegate and supervise tasks to junior team members where appropriate

- Forming and maintaining positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to role model good practice leadership
- Technology literate, with the ability to use technology to enhance legal services
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to form positive working relationships with a wide variety of team members
