Buyer

**The Role**

We are looking for a buyer to control both our existing and new supply base. You will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and buying medical supplies, into both Retail, Wholesale and Hospital sectors.

You will be working with both UK and International suppliers to ensure best supply, price, and quality in line with our customer expectations

C&P Medical is rapidly expanding within the market and now requires an additional buyer to help enrich the company’s growth

You will have a purchasing background and a determination to help C&P achieve our goals

**About You**
- Possess a strong understanding of supply chain systems and processes from supplier to customer
- Competent with stock control and working with ERP/ MRP business systems.
- Analytical with persuasive, negotiating skills and able to communicate with professionals at all levels internally & externally.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and be accustomed to working to tight deadlines
- Sourcing - Responsible for negotiation of quotations, agreement of contract terms, supporting stakeholders in the Purchase Order process and management of supplier relationships on-going
- Supplier Relationship Management experience
- Has a proven track record of delivering results and has experience of working within a service delivery environment; Agility to handle a number of tasks simultaneously and to prioritise effectively and capable
- Numeracy and an excellent attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with strong planning skills
- Proficiency in using Excel

**Key Responsibilities**
- Compare supplier reliability, in relation to costs, deliveries and products
- Manage a range of suppliers to ensure delivery on time at the right price
- Support delivery lead times and update Back Order Report
- Sourcing
- Setting up suppliers on the system
- Oversee Returns
- Highlight issues to Senior Management
- Work with other departments
- Follow Procedures
- Product Set up on System
- Price Increases and Sales data information for Sales Team
- Administration Tasks
- Ad hoc Tasks

**Key Skills**
- Must have experience in buyer role
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
- Time-management, organisation and coordination skills
- Must have a thorough knowledge & understanding of Excel
- Knowledge of Sage would be advantageous though not essential
- Remaining calm under pressure
- Good at problem solving
