To support a lady with severe disabilities resulting from progressive MS in her own home. We are looking for a caring and patient individual who enjoys working with someone with disabilities to help them maintain their independence. As part of the role, you will be working with one other person and be responsible for administering medication, personal care, and undertaking duties around the home. You will also be involved in helping her to access the community, confidence building, exercises and lots of fun and laughter.

Experience is desirable but full training will be available for the right person.

The hours we are looking to fill are as follows:
Every other (fortnightly) Saturday & Sunday 9am-5pm

There will also be the additional opportunity for covering other shifts and hours of the team to cover holidays and sickness. The option for overnight sleep-in may also be offered after a successful probationary period. These opportunities will be discussed with you during the interview process.

Location: Swanton Morley

Rate of pay**:£12.50 ph**.

**Personal specification**
- Female support worker required due to personal care requirements
- A strong understanding of the barriers faced by those living with disabilities
- Physically fit and able to push a wheelchair
- Non patronising, extremely patient and calm demeanour
- High attention to detail and the ability to follow stringent processes
- High standards of cleanliness and able to work in a Covid-secure manner
- Flexible in relation to hours worked
- Driving licence preferred but not essential
- Previous experience of care work preferred although full training will be provided

**Requirements**:

- A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
- Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
- Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 3 months.
- The Annual holiday entitlement will be equivalent to the work which would normally be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 16 per week

**Salary**: £12.50 per hour
