**Quality Control Inspector**

Somerton, Somerset

£26,000 - £28,000 per annum plus benefits

I am proud to bring to market this exclusive opportunity with a prominent Food Manufacturing client based in Somerton, Somerset. You will be working alongside a team of Quality Control Inspectors reporting into the Technical Manager. As Quality Control Inspector you will be responsible for pre inspection and end of line inspection within the production department. This is a business that values quality and understands the importance through constantly improving standards.

**Duties and responsibilities**
- Maintain effective communications between QC and technical department
- Manage and complete all specification and legal documentation as required
- Carry out visual and physical product integrity tests as scheduled and in a timely manner for contamination and presentation
- Check labelling and packaging of products is correct against customer specification
- Complete and maintain data record sheets accurately
- Contribute to maintain a clean, tidy and food safe working environment
- Ensure all final products are checked for all quality and hygiene attributes
- Reject any product which does not meet specifications, reporting quality defects and issues to line supervisor or production manager
- Cover for other QCs as required
- Complete CCP verification tests as required and document results

**Qualifications, skills and experience required**
- You will ideally have experience within a food production environment; however, the role can be learnt by an individual with strong attention to detail and the confidence to challenge.
- Ability to understand and carry out instruction and practices
- You will need to be self-starter who can be relied on to use your initiative
- Maintain good communication skills and awareness
- Must demonstrate reliability and have personal integrity to maintain quality standards in the face of possible production challenges.
- No formal qualifications are required for this role
- This role requires a moderate to high degree of physical activity
