The Royal Oldham Care Organisation are looking for patient focused support staff to join ward F11.

The Health Care Support Worker role is key in ensuring that our nursing teams are supported to deliver consistent, high quality, patient centred care.

**Unfortunately, this role does not meet the criteria required to qualify for sponsorship.**

Main duties of the job

Your care for other people and your willingness to go above and beyond to provide the best possible care to patients and relatives will ensure your success in the role. Friendly and approachable in your style, you’ll be someone who can communicate well, be able to organise your workload accordingly and be a reliable point of support for patients, relatives and your colleagues.

Detailed job description and main responsibilitiesPerson specification

**Qualifications**:
Essential criteria
- Care Certificate either upon appointment or within 12 weeks of commencement
- Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE English and Maths Grade D-G)

Desirable criteria
- NVQ Level 2 in Healthcare or a Level 2 Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship already achieved

Knowledge, Training & Experience

Essential criteria
- Experience of working with members of the public or a desire to work in the Health Service
- Understanding of routine work procedures gained through a short induction period and on the job training

Desirable criteria
- Experience of working within a health or social care environment
- Experience of working within a team

Skills & Abilities

Essential criteria
- Good communication skills
- Basic IT skills

Desirable criteria
- Good organisational skills
- Commitment to undertaking continuous professional development (CPD)
