This is a superb opportunity for an experienced Account Executive to join one of the biggest names in the insurance industry and inherit a substantial portfolio of corporate business.
On our briefing call with the hiring manager, they were adamant that, “there is simply no better place to have an insurance career than this business.” They went on to tell us that this role gives people exposure to risks that they simply won’t find in other companies, and that it involves very interesting work encompassing a true Risk Advisory approach and Crisis Management projects with high profile clients.
Your portfolio can be tweaked to suit your skills, experiences and ambitions and most Account Executives in the team tend to control circa £65K in fee income. The branch would view its ‘bread and butter’ accounts as being north of £30K in terms of fee income, and there’s certainly a number of six-figure income cases held too.
Clients held by the branch include fascinating risks from the worlds of Retail, Food & Beverage, Construction, Healthcare and Transportation, many of which are household names and have operations overseas leading to complex global exposures.
The focus on this role is very much on the management of an existing portfolio of clients rather than business development, and rather than actively pursuing new business, it is hoped you would try to capitalise on opportunities as and when they present themselves, or grow the account through cross-selling ancillary services.
Working in a team of experienced Account Executives, you will provide a high-level service to your own dedicated portfolio of clients. You will benefit from the assistance of a team of Corporate Account Handlers, Brokers and Claims Executives, who will allow you to focus on the more challenging aspects of controlling the portfolio, such as overseeing renewals and managing C-Suite relationships.
It is essential that you have experience of working as an Account Executive. Whilst this need not extend to previously managing clients with £50K fees, it is essential that you have dealt with some larger commercial risks and that you can demonstrate the enthusiasm and ability to deal with more complex, major corporate risks. You must be a polished communicator who is able to secure ‘buy in’ from corporate clients from a variety of industry sectors.
