Taunton Town Council is seeking a dedicated and detail-orientated HR Assistant to join our team. The HR Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the HR Lead in various human resources functions. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in HR and contribute to the smooth operation of the council.
Main Responsibilities:

- Assist the HR Lead in the recruitment process, including posting job vacancies, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
- Maintain employee records and ensure all HR documentation is up-to-date and accurate.
- Support the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing orientation materials and conducting initial training sessions.
- Handle employee inquiries and provide assistance with HR-related issues and policies.
- Coordinate and assist with employee training and development programs.
- Assist in the administration of employee benefits and payroll.
- Help organise and participate in HR events and initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
