Senior Product Owner

**Reporting to**: Product Director

**Location**: Minimum of one day per week in the Liverpool office, the remainder of the week you may choose to work remotely or be office based

As a product owner at Mando, you will be involved in the continuing evolution of our move towards product-oriented service delivery.

You will work with new and existing clients to build prioritised backlogs from digital roadmaps and the output of our proactive optimisation services.

You will be involved in all aspects of discovery, design and delivery within our Product engagements, working within a cross-functional team to understand requirements, define epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria and then supporting the team in the orchestration of deliverables required to achieve sprint goals.

You will work to establish strong relationships with clients and provide the ‘voice of the client’ within Mando, to maximise the prioritisation of value and quality in product development.

You will challenge requirements and/or roadmap initiatives where applicable to ensure decision-making is ensuring the best possible outcomes and return on investment, where possible using data to support those decisions. Likewise, you will work closely with our data practitioners to ensure we are looking to measure and prove feature performance against digital KPIs and assist with the production of case studies to evidence our work.

You will own sprint planning sessions, establish sprint goals, and propose draft plans to the team for validation and estimation. You will work closely with delivery managers (Project Managers / Scrum Masters) to ensure defined sprints are fully estimated and achievable. You will likewise play an important role in reviewing sprint performance and establishing metrics to monitor performance.

Your focus will be maximising value and quality, and to that end, you will be comfortable challenging requirements and proposed solutions, both internally and externally, and where applicable suggesting or challenging for alternatives that may be better, faster or cheaper, with clarity and transparency to all stakeholders.

You will be instrumental in undertaking impact assessment of incoming change requests and requirements briefs; and as part of this be able to function well in direct sales support activities.

**Responsibilities & Required Skills / Experience**
- Extract and formulate business requirements with client stakeholders
- Translate a digital roadmap into a backlog of epics, identifying and scaling key challenges that will need to be addressed for successful delivery
- Develop user stories and detailed acceptance criteria to deliver epic features
- Set sprint goals and propose a draft sprint to the team; attaching tickets with provided estimates were applicable to ensure the sprint can be delivered based on the available resource identified by the Delivery Manager.
- Work with clients to re-prioritise product backlog when/where emerging issues impact delivery (e.g. stakeholder availability)
- Able to work across multiple workstreams/product with engagements of differing agile maturity
- Working in cross-functional digital teams with a solid understanding of the core roles in digital delivery (e.g. business analysis, user experience, visual design, solution architects, infrastructure specialists, test engineers and developers)
- Comfortable working with senior client stakeholders; building and growing relationships and maintaining the voice of the client within Mando.
- Digest research such as competitor analysis and user testing, pulling out relevant insights in support of proposals relating to roadmap priority or feature design.
- Be comfortable running workshops, facilitating discussions and leading to drive good outcomes on which the team are fully aligned
- Support account level governance to senior stakeholders with Account Director and Program Manager as needed; bringing your detailed knowledge of the product and our services to support commercial and delivery discussions
- Understanding of the fundamentals of web technologies and software development
- Build a comprehensive understanding of our Data and Insights offer and integrate this into your product thinking.
- Build strong functional relationship with our strategists to build rationale for priorisation, mechanism to baseline and measure performance against KPIs and deliver these insights back to strategy to validate outcomes and provide benefit realisation to clients.
- Business analysis and project management principles including the use of digital tools to support these activities (e.g. JIRA)
- Agile delivery experience and knowledge of ceremonies
- Demonstrable experience working as a product owner/manager within a digital agency or digital product development environment
