Waste Supervisor

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, who is looking for **Waste Supervisor** to join their team.

**_Start Date: ASAP_**

**_Shift Pattern: between 08:00am - 17:00pm _**

**_Pay Rate: £11.42 per hour_**

**Purpose of the Role**:
To ensure that the sites that are their direct responsibility are managed effectively and in accordance with the contractual requirements. To support the Senior Supervisor in the operational delivery of the contract and help improve the customer experience.

**Main Duties**:

- Ensure the effective operation of the appropriate sites and correct allocation of resources.
- Ensure Household Recycling sites are compliant with all legislative requirements and permits.
- Support the County Supervisor in managing health and safety across the contract and ensuring that the appropriate investigations and documentation is completed.
- Liaise with the transport department and approved suppliers to ensure collections are booked in and completed in time to ensure that there is capacity on sites at all time.
- Ensure the appropriate completion of all relevant paperwork and audits at sites.
- Ensure the management of the sites in accordance with the Environmental Management System and safe working procedures.
- Ensure the effective management of all audits and closure of appropriate actions.
- Reporting complaints and incidents through the approved routes / systems (e.g. Airsweb).
- Ensure the safe storage of waste in appropriate, suitable containers.
- Manage and implement site policies as directed.
- All work to be carried out in accordance with company policies, risk assessments and safe working practices.
- Undertake any training necessary as part of the duties required.
- Undertake any other duties commensurate with the designation and grading of the post.
- Ensure the segregation of the different waste streams into the appropriate containers.
- Assist the public in separating their waste and provide general advice about recycling.
- Greet the public on site and assist them in using the site effectively.

**Skills and Experiences**:

- Previous experience of waste operations and supervising staff.
- Experience within Household Recycling Centres and/or Waste Management.
- Experience of implementing Health and Safety procedures.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft office and outlook (Desirable but not essential).
- Effective oral and written skills.
- Willingness to work flexibly as a team or individually.
- COTC L4 Civic Amenity Hazardous or equivalent qualification (Desirable but not essential).
