**Highways Operative, Specialist Skilled**

Lancashire Highways Service is responsible for the direct delivery of all highways related schemes across the County made up of 4,300 miles of road, 151,000 streetlights and 2,955 bridges.

We have an excellent opportunity for a Specialist Skilled operative, this post will be based at Cuerden Depot within the Countywide Capital Team.**Why join us?**

- A competitive basic salary starting at £25,979 rising to £29,777. This is the equivalent of £13.47 to £15.43 per hour
- 37 hour basic working week. Overtime payments for hours over this.

**What you will be doing**
- Lead role within a small civils team.
- Daily tasks site preparation works Surface Treatments for small and large highway schemes.
- Laying of Bituminous materials and concrete, adjusting iron work, kerbing, flagging, block paving
- Setting out Traffic management.
- Reading and understanding risk assessments and method statements.
- Completing time sheets and near miss reports
- Assisting within the surfacing teams.
- Performing additional winter maintenance duties.
- Assisting in organising routine seasonal and reactive tasks on site
- Ensuring compliance with site plans, contract specifications Health and Safety Legislation
- Completing records on handheld or desk top IT equipment
- Assisting in any other duties that may be required at busy times. Driving LCC vehicles and plant.
