Mechanical Engineer
Pertemps are currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a manufacturing company based in Bournemouth. This is a full-time, permanent position.
Responsibilities as a Mechanical Engineer:

- Undertake project planning and management of delegated projects
- Responsible for quality and standards of mechanical work on projects
- Manage staff, mechanical workflow, financial control, site inspection and contract management
- Undertake outline design proposals on projects for others to develop
- Undertake the detailed design of engineering building services within agreed deadlines
- Carry out detailed calculations to determine the size of suitable heating, cooling, domestic water, and other systems
- Consider the integration of renewable technologies and energy conservation into designs
- Obtain initial manufacturers quotations and selections, and prepare schedules for tender
- Prepare schematic layouts with design information and prepare layout drawings in 2D AutoCAD
- Check drawings to ensure that they are up to required standard
- Review drawings, prepare specifications, schedules of work and equipment
- Liaise with contractors and clients during the execution of the project
- Carry out site visits for surveys and to check on quality workmanship and compliance with specification and standards
- Contribute to implementation of building and site surveys
- Consider health and safety aspects of designs
- Provide support to engineers and other teams members
- Support business development and carry out QA design audits
- Assist with other duties as may be required by the company

Requirements:

- Minimum 6 years' experience in a mechanical design engineer role
- Has a relevant diploma or degree in engineering, i.e., MIET or MCIBSE or similar.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCad LT2016+, Hevacomp, RETScreen, iSBEM.
- Knowledge of current relevant legislation such as building regulations, British and European standards, health and safety best practice, etc.
- Strong communication skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team

- Monday to Friday - 37.5 hours per week - Working hours are flexible between 8:00am - 18:00pm
- 23 days holiday plus bank holiday

- Salary is £35,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience
