Dietitians Assistant

A dietitians assistant works to support the dietitians in providing the nutrition and dietetic service to patients. This post will be working under the supervision of the adult and paediatric Home Enteral Feeding dietitian teams based at Worthing Hospital.
.As part of the team you will support the dietitian with a range of administrative tasks to ensure a high quality service is always provided to our patients. Excellent customer service and computer skills including use of basic software packages is essential. Tasks involve stock management of enteral feeding equipment, checking invoices, booking appointments, updating patient information, creating and maintaining spread sheets, producing resources, supporting educational events.
In addition to the above you will assist in monitoring individual patients in the community, speaking to patients and their carer’s, and liaising with other members of the multidisciplinary team involved with the patient's care. You will need to collect information needed by the dietitian to support the assessment and on-going management of patients as well as helping to ensure patients have all the right equipment they need to be able to have enteral feeding in the place that they live.

You will need to be able to use your own car to occasionally carry out home visits to weigh patients, drop off or collect feed and equipment.
Experience of working in a caring environment is essential. This post would suit someone who is organised and cares about getting it right first time, who has excellent communication skills and strives to demonstrate high standards of working within everything they do.
You will need to be reliable and have a good attendance record.
