We are looking for compassionate and motivated individuals to join the Activity Team at The Caludon Centre, Coventry. The Caludon Centre is a specialist inpatient mental health unit, providing assessment and treatment to adults experiencing an acute or crisis episode of mental ill health.

The Activity Co-ordinator role is typically provided Monday to Friday between 8:30-16:30 or 9-5.

It is essential for applicants to have an interest in delivering a range of social and recreational activities, including cooking, exercise, gardening, music based activities, creative activities, games, conversational groups and health promotion. At least one relevant area of activity expertise is required.

The acute wards can be rewarding and challenging environments, due to our patient’s clinical needs, so previous experience of working with people who experience emotional difficulties is beneficial (i.e. trauma, mental ill health, neurodiversity).

The post holder will be responsible for co-ordinating and delivering a range of social, recreational, exercise and health promotional activities for patients on the wards.

These activities will be delivered to groups of patients both on and off ward, without direct supervision.

The post holder will will be responsible for maintenance, supply and safe use of a range of activity resources and environments.

Supervision and training are provided.

To provide a diverse program of activities for all inpatient patients on ward.

To provide group activities to patients, on and off ward.

To ensure a broad range of mental well being and physical activity activities are provided daily.

To activity engage people in doing activity, who may have low motivation and / or difficulty regulating their emotions.
