An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time Assistant Technical Officer in the Dental Laboratory.

We are seeking a highly motivated person with excellent verbal and written communication skills to join our multidisciplinary team. It’s a flexible 20 hours per week role to support the orthodontic department. The role predominantly involves casting dental impressions, trimming study models and some admin role as well. Full training will be provided.

The post holder will be required to act in an essential support capacity primarily within the consultant led orthodontic service.

Decontaminate impressions and appliances following contact with body fluids.

Pour plaster models from dental impressions for treatment planning and appliance construction.

Pour cleft palate study models for audits and record keeping.

Accurate trimming, finishing and marking of dental models to a high standard using high speed laboratory trimming machinery.

Responsible for recording all orthodontic work entering the laboratory onto the computerised records system.

Check, complete and file work cards. Interpret dental terminology from card prescription

Manage and organise own workload.

FULL TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED ON ALL ASPECTS OF THE JOB.
