Remote, United Kingdom Capita Full time

Sparks part of Pensions Solutions is a small, in-house, creative communications agency. We have a small business feel, backed up by the not-so-small Capita. We are a well-kept secret having been in pension and engagement communications for almost 25 years.

Our aim is to communicate with our clients, and their members, with clarity and creativity, making the complex simple to help thousands reach their retirement goals.

The team is made up of unique and talented individuals specialising in design, web development, copywriting, animating, communication and engagement strategy and delivery, managing our clients’ projects.

We’re an encouraging, supportive, flexible and driven bunch, with an interest in helping you develop personally as well as professionally.

**Job title**:
Senior communications consultant

**What we are seeking **

We’re looking for a Senior Communications Consultant with a pensions technical or compliance background to join us.

You’ll be someone who has worked in a specialised DB and DC pensions technical role so far, but wants to expand their existing skills into communications and engagement, helping us to communicate pensions information accurately to members in a language that they will understand.

**What you’ll be doing**:
Supporting our clients and their members through the delivery of communication and engagement projects is an important part of the role, but inspiring, educating and supporting your colleagues and clients in relation to pensions legislation and regulations is just as important.
- A relationship builder - able to listen actively and interpret the needs of clients or colleagues to help build long-term relationships
- An influencer - able to inspire, teach and coach others whether this is through client presentations or pensions technical training for colleagues
- Curious and ‘can do’ - you’ll want to dig deeper, ask questions, investigate and find out more to better understand the client, member, process or project. You’ll always be looking to improve what we do and how we do it. You’ll also want to step up, try new things or learn how to do something you’ve not done before
- A strategic friend - you’ll bring warmth, empathy and humour to your role for clients and colleagues as well as being able to instil confidence in clients that you are on their side and will get the job done
- Passionate - you’ll naturally be passionate about the role that pensions legislation, regulations and compliance play and will want to coach, mentor and develop others to increase their knowledge and confidence in this area
- An organiser - you’ll be highly organised, an excellent planner and pay close attention to detail
- A problem solver - like to find effective and pragmatic solutions to problems and anticipate issues before they happen and take corrective action
- A multi-tasker - you can juggle competing priorities, workloads and clients, whilst reassuring and supporting your colleagues and clients

**What we’re looking for**:
**Essential**
- A higher qualification (HND or Degree)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in pensions technical role
- Strong copywriting, proofing and editing skills
- Exacting attention to detail, commitment to accuracy and quality
- A demonstrable skill level in Microsoft Office
- A willingness to receive direction and respond positively to constructive feedback
- Excellent organisational and communication skills - at all levels
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic - ability to work to tight deadlines, with minor or no supervision
- The ability and experience to handle multiple tasks under pressure

**What’s in it for you?**
- 23 days’ holiday **(rising to 27) **with the opportunity to buy extra leave
- Company matched pension, life assurance, a cycle2work scheme, 15 weeks’ fully paid maternity, adoption and shared parental leave, paternity pay of two weeks and plenty more
- Voluntary benefits designed to suit your lifestyle - from discounts on retail and socialising, to health & wellbeing, travel and technology
- The opportunity to take a paid day out of the office, volunteering for our charity partners or a cause of your choice
- Access to our Employee Network Groups, which represent every strand of diversity and allow colleagues to connect and learn from each other on an open, inclusive platform
