**Purpose**:
TVS are working as part of Team Leidos delivering an end-to-end supply chain service for a range of commodities. This role is leading the Defence Clothing supply chain co-ordination team, maintaining supply for a wide of clothing products to our military customers across the world. The job holder will manage a team of circa 15 procurement professionals (3-4 direct reports) delivering a supply chain service via two key routes of supply, from inventory via our modern warehouse facility and direct from our suppliers.
This is a leadership and management role responsible for delivering agreed outputs and performance targets. This a high-profile opportunity to make a difference in support of UK Defence. We are looking for experienced Supply Chain professionals, who are excited to work in the Defence sector alongside our colleagues in uniform. The role offers excellent development and knowledge creation across a wide scope of activity alongside other TVS colleagues, with our supply base and with our customers.
Please note we work on a hybrid model of three days working from home and two days in our offices in Emersons Green, Bristol each week. Therefore, you must be located within reasonable commuting distance to Bristol. The majority of the team are currently based in Bicester, there will be a requirement to travel to Bicester on a regular basis.
**Main Duties & Responsibilities**:
The purpose of the role is to supply defence clothing items to military end users in a Supply Chain Management role. Two key measures of success are to meet agreed performance criteria and support delivery of cost savings alongside our technical, sourcing and commercial teams in a public contracting environment.
Main duties will include (not restricted to):
- Lead, mentor and develop the clothing supply chain team (up to four direct reports).
- Create and manage training and development plans to meet role competencies.
- Ensure stock levels for clothing products are maintained & managed on TVS systems (Msys).
- Ensure continuity of supply for the Defence clothing item range to meet customer requirements.
- Manage supply chain processes including demand satisfaction, customer queries, supplier responses/quotes and engagement with warehouse teams.
- Build relationships with suppliers, our customer and Team Leidos colleagues to deliver an effective and optimal supply chain.
- Authorise and manage the disposal of any items which require it.
**Knowledge, Skills & Experience**:
- Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills at a senior manager - minimum 2 years in a supply chain role
- Minimum 2 years’ experience using an ERP system (SAP, AWS, SAGE, etc)
- Experience working in a matrix organisation - ability to collaborate and influence.
- Previous experience of working in a defence environment (desirable).
