**Job Title**: Learning Support Assistant

**Grade/Salary**: £12,539 - £16,569 (depending on full or part time)

**Hours**: 8.30am - 2.50pm / 8.00am - 4.00pm

**Contract**:Permanent

**Location**:Basingstoke

We are looking for a Learning Support Assistants who would enjoy being part of a rapidly expanding and ‘good’ school. You will work as part of an established Learning Support Team in helping to support students with Special Educational Needs.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who would like to work in education and enjoys working with young people aged 11-16. You will be a valuable member of the team supporting students with Special Educational needs both in the classroom and in small intervention groups.

**Responsibilities.**
- Working with individual or groups of children.
- Assisting in ensuring pupils are kept on task and complete activities set by teachers.
- Deal with behavioural and special needs issues in conjunction with the teacher.
- Help implement lesson plans.
- Provide feedback to pupils in conjunction with the headteacher.
- Assist the teacher with testing and assessment.
- Review progress of pupils against learning programmes.
- Implement curriculum policies.
- Detect signs of behavioural issues.
- Work with outside agencies.
- Contribute, where needed, to whole school administration.

**Personal Specification.**
- Must have an up to date, Enhanced DBS.
- Minimum Grade A-C GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths & English.
- Interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to acquire ICT skills.
- Awareness of school procedures, practices.
- Awareness of Health and Safety responsibilities.
- Ability to communicate clearly in writing and orally.
- Ability to work under pressure.
