Maternity Office Team Leader

FULL TIME POST - 37.5 HOURS A WEEK
To ensure the smooth day to day running of the Maternity Office including direct line management responsibilities to the administration team of the Maternity Office.
The post holder will be responsible for the day to day running of the Maternity Office as well as being responsible for the direct line management of the administration staff with in the team.
The post holder will also be responsible for the management of the medical records for the obstetric patients including the co-ordinating of the movement of case notes between departments and also off site storage.
The post holder will be responsible for the validation of the obstetric patients using the hospital systems and liaising with other internal departments.
The post holder will be responsible for ordering the stationary for the department.
The post holder will demonstrate good organisational skills and have the ability to prioritise their own workload under pressure and use their own initiative and undertake additional work as required.
They must also be able to provide a courteous and diplomatic point for enquiries.
The post holder must be able to maintain a total level of confidentiality and be able to understand and act on complex information.

Line management of the staff within the Maternity Office including the accurate recording of sickness and annual leave and the completion of annual personal development reviews.
To compile statistics and validations for the obstetric patients liaising with the Antenatal Lead, Digital Midwives and members of the Senior Management Team.
To coordinate the storage of case notes onsite and off-site storage.
To oversee the booking and the capacity of the obstetrics clinic including the setting up of templates and the cancelling and suspending of the clinics.
Management of overseas visitors who attend Antenatal Clinic, which includes interviewing the patient to see if they qualify for NHS treatment or be charged for their treatment at this hospital.
To support the training of any new starters to the department
To attend meetings with various levels of managerial staff and representatives from other areas.
To work in conjunction with Corbar Maternity Unit to provide a service for patients who live in the Derbyshire area.
To cover duties of other staff in the department where necessary.
To have the responsibility of making decisions on a day-to-day basis that will affect the staff or department. On other matters, discussions take place with the Line Manager.
Prepare non stock orders requisitions for specialist goods and any ad hoc orders. Sourcing products and acquiring prices from suppliers and liaising
Provide leadership responsibility, recognising and developing the teams through mentoring, coaching and training them to utilise the strengths to enhance the department’s performance and build organisational capability.
