Job Introduction
Landmarc Support Services is currently seeking to recruit a Training Area Operative at our Warcop Camp in Appleby in Westmorland.
As the Training Area Operative, you will play a key part in helping to maintain a safe, efficient and sustainable place for our Armed Forces to train, this pivotal role is essential to the delivery of the contract.
We are looking for someone who either has previous knowledge of working on the Defence Training estate or someone who is keen to learn new skills and bring an enthusiastic willingness to learn, Landmarc will provide full training for the successful applicant.
You will be required to work flexibly over the course of a 37 hour working week. You will be required to work some weekends, this is reflected in our Variable Days Allowance.
Main Responsibilities
To ensure that the Training Estate Facilities are fit for purpose
Preparing military ranges and training areas for use
Grounds maintenance, using lawn mowers and strimmer’s, carrying out weed killing and other maintenance works on the range and training area’s
Housekeeping
Driving and operating vehicles
Direct, support and advise training estate users both civilian and military
Use both IT and paper based systems to complete any relevant documentation
Understanding of Health & Safety, COSHH and Safe working practices
Excellent communication skills
Work in a diverse multi-tasking mobile team in an outdoor environment
Basic DIY, laboring, caretaking and housekeeping skills
Ability to complete documentation
Basic IT skills
Have a full driver’s licence valid in the United Kingdom (essential)

Landmarc provides the support services that enable Armed Forces from around the world to prepare for frontline military operations across the UK Defence Training Estate (DTE). This includes maintaining and delivering safe and sustainable infrastructure, managing and operating training areas and ranges and delivering multi-million pound projects to improve vital training assets.
