Glasgow, United Kingdom Glasgow Caledonian University Full time

**Advert**:
Glasgow Caledonian University is a vibrant, multi-cultural and modern university in the centre of Glasgow, and is placed amongst the top 70 universities globally (THE Impact rankings, 2021). Our welcoming community of 20,000 students, from more than 100 countries, enjoy a wide range of award-winning support services and state of the art facilities across each of our campuses in Glasgow, London and New York. Our University mission - with its commitment to the Common Good and core values of integrity, creativity, responsibility and confidence - is integral to everything we do.

Within the university, the Institute for University to Business Education (IU2BE) is a cornerstone in the delivery of GCU’s vision to be the university for Common Good and to provide access to higher education for all. One of IU2BE’s key activities is to develop and deliver education across the UK and globally in the form of transnational education in partnership with third sector and private sector organisations.

Our success is measured by the delivery of our bespoke programmes to a range of clients in UK, Eire and South Africa. We work across both undergraduate and post graduate levels. We currently are seeking someone to join our lecturing team. We are seeking someone who has expertise and experience in work-based learning / education or executive education. Perhaps supporting organisational review, development and innovation, and an understanding of how to measure education’s impact and evaluation.

The person filling this lecturing role will need to be an individual who thrives on working with a diverse range of stakeholders, displays cultural awareness and is passionate about the value of coaching and mentoring our students and work collaboratively with their employer (our clients). This role is critical to the success of our flagship transnational programme with Transnet Freight Rail in South Africa, now entering year 10 of delivery. The lecturing will also extend to our UK and Eire provision.

GCU is constantly developing work-based opportunities and as our portfolio expands, you will support the full academic and business teams to ensure the promises we make to employers and staff are fulfilled.

It will be an exciting and demanding role - you will be coaching individual students, managing employers’ expectations and spend time travelling internationally as the world opens back up after the COVID pandemic. You will need stamina, creativity and a solutions-based approach to all your work. The role will be based in Glasgow with requirement to travel as although blended learning is central to IU2BE’s pedagogy so too is our approach to relationships with our clients.

Glasgow Caledonian University is committed to a fair and transparent recruitment process that is free from bias so that we can attract and retain a high performing workforce which makes a critical contribution to our success.

The University holds the prestigious Athena SWAN Silver institution award, which recognises our significant record of activity and achievement in promoting gender equality across different disciplines.

As a Disability Confident 'Committed' employer, we are striving to ensure that our recruitment process is inclusive and accessible to disabled people. Although the Disability Confident 'Committed' level does not guarantee an interview for disabled applicants, we will make reasonable adjustments for disabled applicants during the recruitment process.

The University also holds the Carer Positive ‘Engaged’ employer award, which recognises our commitment to supporting staff with caring responsibilities.

Glasgow Caledonian University are committed signatories to the Armed Forces Covenant.

The University offers a range of benefits including opportunities for professional development, family friendly policies, cycle to work scheme and onsite childcare facilities.

Please note that the appointment will be made on the first point of the salary scale (unless by exception).
