Lean Six Sigma Black Belt

Erwin Hymer Group UK are looking for a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt to work as part of the Quality, Lean Six Sigma and Engineering Department.

**Purpose of Role**:
The Lean Six Sigma Black Belt will lead key identified cross functional Lean Six Sigma improvement projects across the Site improving processes in both operational, (Manufacturing) and supporting departments whilst achieving significant improvements in operational excellence, Quality and critical business related KPI’s.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manage and deliver Process Improvement projects using Lean & Six Sigma methodologies to Improve KEY business KPI’s including “6 Sigma Quality Improvement” across the Site for both New & Existing products & processes.
- Identify & lead opportunities to implement process improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost metrics.
- Coach & mentor KEY Stakeholders on how to reduce “process variation” & make data driven decisions to improve business results.
- Drive to reduce “Defects” & “Waste” in processes to maximise Quality & Productivity.
- Support the deployment of the Site Improvement Strategy via the “COF” process.
- Identify and deliver Lean & Six Sigma training to YB, GB & BB level for targeted resource & support / guide throughout Project implementations ensuring benefits are captured.
- Use analytical problem-solving tools to help develop robust solutions to address identified problems in both Operational and non - operational areas of the business
- Drive Quality & Manufacturing Efficiency improvement activities utilising appropriate improvement methodologies throughout the life cycle of the product.
- Support the implementation of new products and processes with the most appropriate methodology / tools as required.
- Create cost saving analysis, justifications, and summaries of delivered benefits for all improvement activities and track on appropriate documentation for the appropriate fiscal year.
- Support the Manufacturing Value Streams & KEY support department in achieving pre-established improvement targets.
- Lead / support in the training of operators for increased capability building in the use of Lean & Six Sigma tools.
- Challenges the status quo and shares best practice across the Site.
- Tactically responsible for executing specific KEY projects & capturing / sharing the results.
- Any other reasonable duties.

**Person Specification - Lean Six Sigma Black Belt**

**Qualifications**
- Qualified to degree level or equivalent experience in Manufacturing Engineering or similar discipline.
- Lean Six Sigma BB

**Knowledge and Experience**

**Essential -**
- Knowledge of differing manufacturing & assembly processes
- Comprehensive knowledge and demonstrated understanding of Lean & 6 Sigma tools such as 5S, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, Cp, CpK, Guage R&R, DOE & minitab software.
- Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing technology such as DMEA, FMEA, Design for Manufacture.
- Experience and use of analytical problem
- solving techniques
- Computer literate with knowledge and use of Microsoft packages and use of CAD systems

**Desirable -**
- Knowledge of intermediate Lean tools such as Pull Systems, Jidoka, Material delivery routes, etc.
- Change management experience
- Knowledge of six sigma tools and techniques
- Project management experience
- Knowledge of automated manufacturing systems/robotics/latest technology

**Salary**: Up to £45,000.00 per year
