An exciting opportunity has arisen for the appointment of a Senior Clinician (Band 8a) to join our Chelmsford CAMHS Multidisciplinary Team. The service aims to deliver high quality comprehensive community based treatment and intervention to young people and families struggling with mental health crisis within Essex.

We are looking for a qualified and experienced senior clinician with a strong background and understanding of managing and leading clinical teams in the delivery of comprehensive community treatment for young people and their families struggling with complex mental health needs.

The post-holder will be a post-graduate qualified psychological practitioner (e.g. clinical psychologist, family therapist, psychotherapist ) fully registered with the appropriate professional or regulatory body - such as HCPC, ACP, AFT, etc. The administration base for this post will be central within the county of Essex but the service covers Mid Essex, making use of agile working. The service provides the latest in evidence-based NICE compliant psychological interventions to children and young people with mental health difficulties and complex needs, and their families experiencing emotional wellbeing and mental health difficulties

In SET CAMHS, we are in process of integrating and embedding the Thrive Model and as Senior Clinician, your role is to support staff with clinical decision making.
- Lead in the development and implementation of high standards of clinical care, which is needs led, compliant with national guidance and is viewed positively by young people and their families.
- Have enthusiasm and drive to lead the clinical team in conjunction with the senior management team in delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions; nurturing and developing the service at this exciting time; and contribute to the structure and development of the service moving forwards
- Work with the team manager to ensure the provision of high quality, timely and effective evidence-based therapeutic interventions for young people and families who require more intensive therapeutic support and intervention
- Provide highly specialist assessments where appropriate, which will be used to inform interventions with children, young people and their families as well as the networks supporting them

Probationary Period

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process, new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
