**Job Introduction**
Our Skanska Costain STRABAG joint venture team is working in partnership with HS2 to deliver the new London tunnels from Euston to West Ruislip. Our joint venture team is working on sites at Euston, Old Oak Common and West Ruislip, building tunnels 13 mileslong and up to 50m deep, supporting delivery of HS2 phase one.
We are looking for a **Technical Assurance and Quality Engineer - Asset Protection Engineer **to join our **HS2** team onsite in** London**. You will be responsible for working with multiple teams and guiding team membersthrough the construction and completion/handover process
**Role Responsibility**
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide operational and functional management advice on the practical implementation of the SCS Technical Assurance and Quality policies and procedures to the Delivery Teams and other supporting functions.
- Support to complete construction works assurance packages within Design/Construction
- Assist the Area Technical Assurance and Quality Managers in key tasks to assist in the development, management, implementation and monitoring of the Technical Assurance and Quality Management Systems.
- Ensuring records maintained for instrument installation, monitoring, calibration checks, calibration registers and maintenance in accordance with the accepted Contractors specification and to ensure no delay to construction activities.
**Skills and Qualifications**:
- Strong understanding of site operations.
- Experience managing the Quality and/or Technical Assurance aspects of infrastructure projects or comprehensive Site Engineering experience.
- Experience in undertaking technical site inspections and/or audits.
**Package Description**
**Role**
The Asset Protection Technical Assurance and Quality Engineer will support and report into the Area Central Technical Assurance and Quality Managers.The Engineer will work with multiple teams and guide team members through the construction and completion/handoverprocess. The role will predominantly be site based, working out of Atlas and Victoria Road Offices.
**Key Responsibilities**
Support on the coordination of the technical assurance and quality activities and systems to enable the Delivery Team, Subcontractors, HS2 and Supervisor on the Project. Tasks will include, but not limited to:
- Provide operational and functional management advice on the practical implementation of the SCS Technical Assurance and Quality policies and procedures to the Delivery Teams and other supporting functions.
- Support in developing the Design and Construction Technical Assurance Plans and support production of the single assurance packs for Design (LOD4) and Construction Stages (LOD5).
- Support to complete construction works assurance packages within Design/Construction Verification Certificates
- Assist the Area Technical Assurance and Quality Managers in key tasks to assist in the development, management, implementation and monitoring of the Technical Assurance and Quality Management Systems.
- Work on Schedules and Reporting for Quality and Technical Assurance.
- Review of ITP’s and any other compliance evidence documentation including but not limited to check sheets on our Digital platform and TA/QA related documentation provided by the delivery teams or sub-contractors.
- Being fully informed of any buildings, structures, anomalies or other assets in the vicinity of the TBM and other works packages
- Awareness of processes relating to monitoring plans, programme and procedures for installation, protection, operation, maintenance and removal of equipment and instrumentation, as well as mitigations design, implementation and hand over where required.
- Ensuring records maintained for instrument installation, monitoring, calibration checks, calibration registers and maintenance in accordance with the accepted Contractors specification and to ensure no delay to construction activities.
- Providing on site coaching, training and supervision for delivery team, subcontractors and suppliers in terms of TA/QA related to Asset Protection.
- Manage QA file production and cross checking with site.
- Ensuring baseline readings being obtained in advance of commencement of construction activities and that readings are taken at the frequency specified in the Contractors monitoring Plan during construction activities.
- Summary reporting of information provided from IM Engineers for review meetings.
- Understanding the Client and Joint Venture Partners’ Environment and Sustainability Policies, Processes and statutory requirements as they affect the company’s operations and ensure that the requirements, as applicable within their discipline, are implementedon the project.
**Required qualifications, skills, behaviours, and attributes**
Essential
- A strong understanding of site operations.
- Experience managing the Quality and/or Technical Assurance aspects of infrastructure projects or comprehensive Site Engineering experience.
- Experience in undertaking technical site inspections and/or audits.
- Experienced with reporting and forecasting
- Relevant CSCS Card.
Desirable:
- Previous experience of Asset Protection on a major project of similar nature.
- Familiar with environmental regulations in relation to Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Environmental Sensitive Areas in relation to monitoring and instrumentation.
- Ability to review, verify and compile site handover and compliance documentation.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- High Level of Computer Literacy.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems.
- Strong contract experience.
- Experience with Power BI.
- Experience in Rail or Infrastructure projects.
