**Structural / Civil Engineer**who has residential and commercial property experience preparing structural reports, structural calculations, working drawings and specifications is required for a multi-disciplinary practice of chartered professionals(Building Surveyors, Architects, Building Consultants and Structural Engineers).
**SALARY**:Negotiable (depending on experience)
**LOCATION**:Hybrid. Working from Home and the Office inHexham, Northumberland, North East England (The team are currently working from home but have the option to work from the office whilst observing all social distancing protocols.)
**JOB TYPE**:Full-Time, Permanent
**WORKING HOURS**:Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Structural / Civil Engineerwho has residential and commercial property experience preparing structural reports, structural calculations, working drawings and specifications.
Working as a Structural / Civil Engineer you will be hard-working, proactive, confident and results driven to perform survey and design duties to support the company’s insurance claim work and architectural business function.
As a Structural / Civil Engineer Ideally, you will have substantial experience in residential and commercial property, working on multiple projects simultaneously with a focus on a structures-based knowledge.
As a Structural / Civil Engineer you will be part of a busy practice offering professional consultancy services to a wide range of public and private sector clients, specialising in conversion, extensions and newbuilds across the North East of England andSouthern Scotland.

**DUTIES**
Your duties as a Structural / Civil Engineer will include:
- Building defect diagnosis
- Preparation of structural reports and structural calculations, working drawings and specifications
- Managing client / business relationships
- Undertaking site visits
- Attending projects meeting
- Managing projects across all stages
- Supervising and managing third party contractors
- Insurance work
**CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS**
- **Multi-disciplined design skills** - Design of simple foundations / beams / columns / frames in a variety of construction materials e.g. timber, structural steel and concrete
- **Self-confidence** - The ability to work unsupervised and unchecked
- **Practical** - Consideration towards buildability of designs and on-site problem solving
- **Diagnostic skills** - The ability to diagnose both engineering and building defects, designing suitable solutions
- **Communication** - Effective report writing and communicating solutions to others. Good customer care skills and a sociable approach with clients and colleagues
