**About The Role**

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our Joint Commissioning Team as a Special Educational Needs Placement and Finance Officer. As a key member of our Children’s Commissioning team, you will be instrumental in the implementation and maintenance of financial and statistical procedures to enable effective budget management of the High Needs Block and support the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) teams to meet its statutory duties in relation to pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans.

In addition to the this, you will ensure the Children and Young People with Special Needs and or Disabilities have access to good quality education placements and you will work closely with local education settings, our SEN department and a range of other teams including Finance.

**About The Team You’ll Be Working In**

**Key Responsibilities for the Joint Commissioning Team include**:
1. Close Collaboration with Lifelong Learning, Skills and Employment: You will work closely with the Council’s SEN and Finance Teams to ensure children are placed in education settings that meet their needs.

2. Strong Local Partnerships: You will have a portfolio of schools and education settings and work in partnership with local health services.

3. Good Practice Accounting: You will take the lead on good quality accounting for your element of the High Needs Budget and for providing up to date data and financial projections for Children with Special Needs and or Disabilities.

**About You**

1. You bring experience of working in accounting with a strong track record of finance systems.

2. You have an understanding of the education sector, ideally with an understanding of Local Authority Education budgets.

3. You will be organised and have the ability to work well under pressure and meet multiple deadlines.

4. You have the ability to build trusting relationships with colleagues, both internally and externally, and can communicate clearly and effectively at all levels.

5. You will be working for Children’s Joint Commissioning, reporting directly to the Senior Placements and Monitoring Officer.
