Construction Manager

A major civil engineering contractor in the South West is recruiting a Construction Manager for a new 6km road with new roundabouts, junctions and associated civils. The business specialise in highways and heavy civils with a big presence in the South Westworking with local authorities and private sector clients as well as the likes of National Highways and Network Rail - thus giving the opportunity to work within the region for the foreseeable future.
The Construction Manager's role will focus on the technicalities of the project, managing programme and general delivery of the day to work allowing the Project Manager to manage the client and other stakeholders.
Construction Manager duties include:
- Ensure all on-site works is being supervised correctly with all health and safety procedures in place
- Working with the Planners and Project Manager to highlight potential delays and opportunity
- Ensuring health & safety, environmental and welfare procedures are adhered to
- Supporting the engineering team with technical challenges offering a solution
- Collaborating with designers for quality as well as managing design process
- Ensure quality and specification is met across the project
- Cost awareness and value engineering throughout the project
