Warehouse Senior Supervisor

**We currently have the following position available: Senior Supervisor - at our new Hartlepool site.**

**Operation**

**Responsibilities**

The Senior Supervisor ensures a high standard of health and safety is maintained. They assign duties and supervise and report upon the work of varying numbers of Team Leaders and Operators working in a warehouse environment, whilst leading, communicating, motivating and training/developing others effectively. They ensure that all company policies and procedures are adhered to and manage performance through an agreed set of Key Performance Indicators (KPI). They ensure that team members are trained in warehouse processes and monitor individual progress. They will be required to carry out any further tasks as deemed necessary by the senior management team.

Summary of main tasks:

- To take care of your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your actions at work.
- To ensure the team maintain the highest of Health and Safety standards, issuing/ reporting contraventions as necessary.
- To monitor and enforce company rules with regards Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
- To ensure that all team members are aware and adhere to customer site rules and any specific customer H&S and compliance rules/policies
- To ensure that driving standard audits are conducted in line with the defined schedule and are completed by a trained and competent assessor
- To ensure all fire exits and alarms are free from obstructions and serviceable.
- To carry out start and end of shift briefings, communicate start of shift objectives, brief company communications and carry out other meetings as necessary.
- To control and monitor attendance in accordance with company policies and processes.
- To actively check equipment and ensure anything that has been reported as a concern has been followed up.
- To control and manage all equipment documentation ensuring optimum levels of serviceability are maintained.
- To carry out/delegate Gemba Kanri (GK) audits covering Manual Handling, Driving Standards and Standard Operation Procedures.
- To create One Point Lessons (OPL), brief staff and display ensuring understanding and compliance.
- To ensure the customer Oracle system transactions are completed accurately and in a timely manner
- To be able to investigate stock and transactional discrepancies identified on customer reports or on an individual basis
- To manage pick schedules/requirements to meet shift targets.
- To promote continuous team development and performance and lead and promote continuous improvement activities.
- To manage disciplinary and grievance issues in line with Vantec policies.
- To manage resources to cover staff absence & workload capabilities (including weekend working)

**Skills and Qualifications required**
- Knowledge of working within a warehouse environment.
- Experience of leading teams.
- An understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Aware of manual handling techniques.

**- Material Handling Equipment (MHE) license.**
- Must be aware of and/or have the ability to develop an awareness of Equal Opportunities issues and to comply with Vantec Europe Policy Statement.
- Willingness to achieve a Vantec Intermediate Certificate.
- Must be flexible to work a two-shift rotating pattern as well as overtime when required.

**Experience**:

- Supervisor: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- FLT Counterbalance Licence (preferred)
