We are looking to recruit a Consultant Social Worker in the Children with Disabilities Team (Life Planning Team) within Barking & Dagenham. The successful candidate will be working in a well-structured, organised team who are growing their social workerstaffing levels.London Borough of Barking & Dagenham pay close attention to looking after their Social Workers and strive to ensure they feel supported and welcomed in their roles. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stable working environment with experiencedleadership, whilst receiving regular supervision and training opportunities.The responsibilities of the Consultant Social Worker includes:Experience of working complex cases, court, CP & Child LegislationSupervision of students/family support workers in orderto give support to social workers in the teamAct as a senior specialist member of a social work team providing outstanding or excellent social work services to children and their families, with the purpose of safeguarding and promoting their welfare.Dischargethe Authorities responsibilities under the Children's Act 1989 & 2004 and other relevant legislation in respect of; children in need of protection and those in the care of the Local Authority.Maintain professional standards of practice and to work in accordancewith Social Work England standards and the Division's values, strategic objectives, procedures and managerial guidance.The Consultant Social Worker will actively seek out opportunities to improve service delivery and best practice through the development oftheir own and the wider teams' professional capabilityProvide mentoring, coaching, observation as the practice lead/practice educator for both newly qualified social workers and students across the Service.To ideal candidate will have:Social Work England registrationEligibilityto work in the UKSocial Work qualified (MA/BSc/DPSW/CQSW/MSc/BA)Working with Ackerman Pierce you will be guaranteed weekly payment and access to continued profession development, including a dedicated consultant to support you through the interview and onboarding process.
