Job Introduction

Bar Supervisors are responsible for both the setup and clear down of the bar - including end of day banking reconciliation, and ensuring it’s smooth operation during service. They should monitor staff to ensure they actively upsell, maximising revenue capture and serving drinks in line with service guidelines. They must work in complete adherence to the company procedures set by Sodexo Live and Newcastle United Football Club.

Main Responsibilities

1. To attend pre-match managers briefings, partaking in training required by legislation and the company.
2. Adhere to company cash handling procedures at all times.
3. Ensure and oversee bar setup prior to guests arrival, with all necessary mis en place in place.
4. Conduct a comprehensive staff briefing prior to service, ensuing all staff are in correct uniform.
5. To monitor staff working practices to ensure they are working efficiently and productively, adhering to company working practises, with reference to responsibilities and job description of staff.
6. Ensuring that both bar and floor staff are attentive to guests needs, working in a timely manner to minimise any wait times.
7. Ensuring all drinks prepared are in line with service guidelines.
8. Extensive knowledge of product stocked, and competence in cellar management.
9. Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment, with any defective equipment reported.
10. Deal with customer and staff complaints effectively and efficiently.
11. Actively upselling products and maximising revenue capture.
12. To accurately monitor any wastage, ensuring this is recorded through the Zonal till system.
13. Reconcile all end of day banking, ensuring PCI Compliance at all times.
14. Ensure area is fully cleaned with stock secured at the end of shift.
15. Complete adherence to all licensing legislation, including that which is company specific.
16. Rewarding and recognising staff, working to develop potential and provide on the job training.
17. Complete, sign and comply with all relevant documentation, company policies or procedures.
18. Be flexible & adaptable to changes, working in different areas as necessary due to business demands or in line with any reasonable request.
19. To comply fully with all regulations relating to Health and Safety:
- i. Fire precautions and emergency procedures
ii. COSHH
iii. Hygiene and Food Safety
20. Ensuring correct and hygiene handling (processing) of food items is maintained
