You will support vulnerable young people with Social, Emotional and Mental health needs, who may need therapeutic, pastoral support and behaviour management assistance. We are looking for a calm, conscientious and experienced team member to work with both students and staff teams.

The Post is based at our Secondary school; Henslow, where education is provided for up to 40 children often undertaking bespoke learning programmes following periods of absence from education.

The Behaviour Management lead is a non direct teaching role which will sensitively support students to overcome barriers and fully engage in their learning programmes.

**Desired Skills**
- Knowledge of an education environment and experience working with complex and vulnerable students
- Experience of working with children who display challenging behaviour
- Mediation, restorative justice and conflict resolution skills
- Experience of physical intervention and recognised training (full training will also be provided)

**General Objectives and Principles of Post**

Ensuring the environment for learning is free from disruption enabling students to fully participate in their education. Assist with the protection and nurture of students in keeping with agreed child protection, safeguarding, attendance and behaviour management policies.

To deliver day to day behaviour strategies across the school and co-ordinate support for students to access their learning. Whilst primarily based within the secondary school provision the post holder may be required to support work within the primary school as required.

Providing a high profile, proactive and responsive presence around the school.
