Chichester College have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a **Relief Milker/ General Farm Worker **at our **Brinsbury College campus**. You will join us on a** full-time, permanent basis (37 hours).** In return, we will offer a competitive salary of** £22,871 per annum.**

**The Relief Milker/ General Farm Worker role**:
As an **Relief Milker/ General Farm Worker**, you will work within our friendly, social farm team, working with staff and students on our busy College Farm. Your work will be predominantly livestock husbandry based with specific requirementsto relief milk (as part of a consistent two-week rota), but will also include field and estate work and basic machinery operation.

You will be responsible for the daily operation of the farm and estate, learning environment equipment and teaching resources, and the supervision of designated learning areas.

**Key Responsibilities of our Relief Milker/ General Farm Worker**:

- Undertaking milking and relief milking, herd health tasks, spotting and assist with issues as and when they arise
- Facilitating daily activities within the learning environment, including the preparation of teaching resources and housekeeping
- Providing assistance to individuals or groups of students within the learning environment
- Implementing and maintaining the regulations of the Health and Safety at Work Act and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health legislation, including the reviews of health and safety policies and procedures in the workplace and undertaking risk assessments
- Participating in the curriculum area, College, employer/parent functions, meetings and promotional activities as required
- Participating in course review activities and the generation and implementation of new resources and action plans
- Monitoring and maintaining equipment and preparing replacement plans
- Ordering and stock taking materials and equipment
- Cleaning and maintaining working spaces, developing a working environment and providing technical support and assistance for projects
- Distributing and collecting tools as required on a daily basis

**Our ideal Relief Milker/ General Farm Worker should have the below skills and experience**:

- Level 2 in literacy and numeracy, or willingness to work towards
- Experience ordering supplies, and maintaining stock levels
- Knowledge of Health and safety legislation
- The ability to communicate to a diverse range of people at all levels, verbally and in writing
