The Children’s Society have launched our new Time for young people support space in Plaistow, Newham and are looking for wellbeing practitioners to be a part of this team. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to shape a service as part of The Children’s Society’s mission to reverse the decline of children’s wellbeing by 2030. We believe support should be provided at the earliest possible opportunity, before young people reach crisis point.
We are now looking to recruit Wellbeing Practitioners with **youth work, therapeutic, and trauma informed skills **to deliver 1-1 interventions and group work sessions with young people both at the hub, and through additional delivery sites in the community. We will be offering additional training in the above areas.
We are striving to build a unique, multi-skilled team who are passionate about social justice, inclusion and have excellent knowledge of the complex issues that young people and families face. We are looking for individuals who can work well on their** own initiative** and have great new ideas to bring to the team.
**KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES**
In order to be successful in this role, you must have:
- Excellent understanding of the emotional health and wellbeing needs of children and young people in the local community, informed by current research and evidence bases.
- Experience of working in a trauma-informed and inclusive way. Including working holistically to see, support and respond to young people’s ‘whole selves’.
- Knowledge and experience of working within a 'drop-in' model
**INFO ABOUT THE CHILDREN’S SOCIETY**
The Children’s Society runs over 100 local services that help thousands of young people who desperately need our support, and we campaign to get laws and policies changed to make children’s lives happier and safer.
Every day we’re changing the lives of children in this country for the better - and with your help, tomorrow we can be there for even more.
