**Your New Role**
The Regulatory Services Team is responsible for delivering a wide variety of statutory functions examples of which include, pest control services, the assessment of air quality air, port health border controls and sampling, health and safety, food hygiene and standards, animal welfare, environmental health, product safety and licensing.
This role sits within the Environmental Protection Team who are responsible for a variety of functions including investigation of statutory nuisance, Environmental Permitting, Planning and Licensing Consultation, Beauty Treatment registrations and animal welfare licenses.
The purpose of this role is to provide administrative support to the Environmental Protection Team within the service and to be the first point of contact for all customers. The challenge of this role is to support customers to achieve high standards of regulatory and licencing compliance and maintain efficient delivery of service functions. You will ensure that all enquiries are handled and delivered efficiently in line with procedure, whilst taking responsibility for resolving customer queries, tracking and progressing matters on behalf of the customer and the service. This is a full time office based position. You will ensure service fees and charges are received and processed appropriately whilst accurately maintaining records and obtaining statistical service demand information. In addition you will assist in organising meetings, including taking minutes and scheduling of appointments.
**What you'll need to succeed**
With excellent communication, and accuracy skills, you will have a strong attention to detail. You will have a flexible approach, an aptitude for being decisive as well as the ability to ensure that any information or situations are handled in a respectful manner without escalation. You will need to be self-motivated as there will be occasions when you are working on your own or with limited supervision. An operational understanding of several key regulatory functions would be desirable as well as previous experience in an administrative role.
