Role: Technical Designer

Location: Liverpool or Remote (UK)

Duration: Permanent

We’re hiring for a Technical designer to join our growing team and work on a new AAA title. As a Technical Designer you will be working alongside multiple disciplines to enable the team to produce high-end content as well as providing technical guidance to ensure systems are flexible with the projects needs. This is a unique role and opportunity to help shape the next steps in the growth of our studio.

**Responsibilities**
- Work closely with Design, Art, Programming and Animation to create, prove out and polish systems that are robust and scalable to allow for fast iteration
- Work with leads to document, concept and prototype new features and mechanics using Unreal Engine
- Act as the technical point of contact for key gameplay features and design standards throughout the team
- Help test new features and tools ahead of deployment to the wider team

**Required Experience**
- Technically proficient with Unreal and Blueprints
- Must be able to work closely with programmers to ensure that the game maintains performance benchmarks.
- Implementation skills and experience
- Experience implementing scripted features on systems or levels.

**Desired Experience**
- Knowledge of programming or scripting languages.
- A passion for games and the logic that creates them
- Shipped at least one game as a designer on PC or Console.

**Important**
- The interview process for the Technical Designer role is made up of 3 stages:

- First interview (45 minutes) - An informal chat to discuss your experience and working history relating to the position with members of our Design team. In return, we will provide a full overview of the role, life at the studio as well as answer any questions you may have.
- Second interview (45 minutes) - Second Interview with our our Studio Creative Director and Studio Design Director. This role will be focussed on the project and your skills and experience. You will have the opportunity to understand how our design teams work and the overall structure of our teams.
- Final interview (30 minutes) - A final Interview with our Studio Head and Studio Production Director. This will be a chance for you to get to know the Senior Management team and all the things that make Lucid, Lucid You will have a lot of opportunities to ask any questions about the studio and Culture.
