Our VolkerFitzpatrick business is seeking to appoint an Assistant Site Manager or Site Manager to the build team for a new project in Dagenham, East London.

The Site Manager is an integral member of the Site Operation Team. The Site Manager plays a key role in ensuring that best use of all resources is available to provide maximum return to the Company. The Site Manger is expected to act in a responsible andprofessional manner at all times maintaining good working relations with site management, Client, our chain of sub-contractors, suppliers and designers and with the general public.The Site Manager Shall assist the Project Manager to ensure the site adhereto all VolkerFitzpatrickHSEQ policies.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Control and management of all subcontractors on the site
- Assist in the maintaining the health and safety file on site and ensure that the company health and safety files are implemented
- Assist in the preparation of forecast information requirements
- Advice on quality and completeness of construction information received
- Advice on buildability issues.
- Manage workforce HSEQ in accordance with VFLHSEQ procedures
- Manage plant and equipment on site - ensure all necessary registers and documents are maintained
- Implementation of the Site Management Plan, including all agreed site procedures and practices in line with our HSEQ policy
- Attendance of on-site pre start meeting of subcontractors package
- Oversee implementation of works to programme requirements
- Management of direct and agency labour - the keeping of records and allocation sheets
- Keep records of subcontractor attendance and progress
- Liaises with sub-contractors and resolve any coordination problems that may arise
- Chair/attend - site progress meetings with subcontractors, suppliers and design consultants
- Keep records of all site instructions issued (schedule to be updated at weekly internal meeting)
- Maintain a daily site diary
- Ensure that appropriate quality records are being produced and monitored to verify that the works are being completed in accordance with the specified requirements
- Ensuring good housekeeping on site
- Ensuring compliance with the fire, traffic and Health and safety management plans
- Carry out site inductions of all operatives/personnel new to the site
- Maintain induction records & IIF records of module role out
- Chair and record bi - monthly trade safety meetings
- Chair the pre - start s/c pre start safety meetings
- Maintain a log and issue permits restricted activities i.e. to dig, hot works etc.
- Maintain displays around site and generate interest in health and safety issues on site
- Oversee management, maintenance and amendment (in conjunction with the Project Manager) where necessary, of the fire security and traffic management plans
- Initiate, manage (with the assistance of the site team) and record fire drills
- Carry out weekly inspections to verify/validate fire plan, traffic plan, security plan and health and safety management plan
- Ensure maintenance of COSHH Risk Assessment and Method Statement log and receipt of details prior to subcontractor commencement
- Manage accident reporting and recording with the site team and liaises with VFL safety services
- Manage carrying out tool box talks with operatives and team members
- Assist in providing input to project Health and Safety Plan
- Carry out site inspections, in association with site management to ensure that only safe methods of working are in operation and that all regulations are being observed
- Investigate and determine the cause of accidents or dangerous occurrences, report accordingly and make recommendations to prevent recurrence

**Skills & Experience**:

- NVQ 4 or equivalent
- CSCS- Supervisor
- Site Management Safety Training Scheme -CITB or equal equivalent
