**Job Summary**
We are seeking a skilled & conscientious Solar roofing Installer to join our team on a part time basis. The Solar roofing Installer will be responsible for the installation of solar panels and related components on residential and commercial properties and working together with our electrician to ensure a smooth installation that is of the highest standards.
The role is a part time role consisting of 2 days per week with the opportunity for overtime. This role would benefit roofers who wish to have the benefits and stability of a part time job role alongside their own independent work.
Good knowledge on roofing is more desirable than Solar panel knowledge as training can be provided on the various methods to fit solar panels.
**Role & responsibilities**:
- Carry out solar panel installations and repairs on domestic and commercial solar projects to the highest standards, including roofing repairs and adjustments where necessary.
- Installation of both In-roof & On-roof mounting systems.
- Safe use of power tools and hand tools as necessary
- Cleaning Solar panels using WFP system.
- Pre installation roof surveys
- Adhere to Health & Safety protocols.
- Collaborate with electrician on site to ensure a smooth installation.
- Assist in the procurement of materials.
- Overcome unforeseen obstacles on site to ensure projects are completed without compromising quality.
- Setting out panels.
- Connecting solar panels and crimping DC connections (training provided).
- Gathering photos and completing checklists.
- Ad-hoc tasks as required e.g. administration tasks, collecting stock, loading van and delivering flyers in between projects.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience in roofing.
- Proven experience in solar panel installations (preferred)
- Excellent time keeping
- Excellent communication skills
- Conscientious
- Familiar with domestic & commercial roofing systems and solar mounting systems (preferred).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Capability to assess roofs for solar installation feasibility.
- Willingness to undertake training and stay updated on industry best practices.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Clean and valid UK driving license (max 6 points).
- Practical experience in the roofing industry or similar would be an advantage.
- _IPAF and telehandler license a distinct advantage._
- Methodical, accurate and process focused approach to tasks.
- Ability to read and follow detailed instructions, follow technical drawings measure distances, and perform calculations.
- Comfortable working at height.
**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: £17,500.00 per year
Expected hours: No less than 16 per week
