**Job Overview**

**Duties Include**:

- Support fully qualified electricians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, wiring, and fixtures.
- Help in installing electrical systems in residential, commercial, or industrial properties, including lighting, power distribution, and fire alarms.
- Assist with running and terminating cables, conduit bending, and installing wiring systems under the supervision of an electrician.
- Ensure that all tools, materials, and equipment are prepared and ready for the electrician, including setting up ladders, safety equipment, and checking stock.
- Learn how to use hand and power tools correctly and safely such as wire strippers, pliers and drills.
- Aid in conducting electrical tests using appropriate equipment and support with electrical inspections, documenting any defects or issues identified.
- Set up work areas by preparing materials and keeping the workspace tidy, including cleaning up after installations or repairs.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment, ensuring proper use of PPE and adhering to safety regulations.
- Move and carry heavy equipment, cables, and other materials to support the electricians’ work.
- Assist with paperwork, including logging work completed, timesheets, and project documentation as needed.
- Assist with customer enquiries and queries.

**Essential Job Requirements**:

- Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English, preferably at grade 4 (C) or above.
- Ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces, heights and outdoor areas.
- Capable of lifting heavy equipment, tools and materials when necessary.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues, supervisors and customers.
- Good listening skills to follow instructions and take on feedback.
- Willingness to learn electrical skills on the job under supervision.
- A methodical approach to work and strong attention to detail to ensure installations and repairs are done correctly and safely.
- Ability to complete simple administration tasks using basic IT software.
- A basic understanding of health and safety principles with a commitment to following all health and safety guidelines.
- Must have right to work in the UK and be able to provide documentation upon request.

**Desirable Job Requirements**:

- Basic electrical knowledge and understanding of electrical installation is desirable but not essential.
- A valid UK driving licence or a willingness to work towards obtaining one is desirable.
- Previous work experience in a hands-on or technical role (e.g. construction, mechanics, or DIY projects)
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively when working on multiple tasks.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, depending on project requirements.
- Familiarity with basic hand tools and power tools, and their safe usage is desirable but not essential.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Expected hours: No less than 16 per week
