The Live Bed State (LBS) team work from the LBS Hub within Conquest Hospital to support ESHT inpatient areas in ensuring a live bed state is maintained. This ‘live bed state’ means that patient information is updated on electronic systems used to manage patient and bed information within the Trust as close to real time as possible. At present Allscripts PAS (Patient Administration System) and Nervecentre work together to create this state.

LBS administrators support wards and clinical areas without administrative resource with maintaining this live state by predominately inputting timely admissions and discharges into PAS when informed that a patient has arrived or been discharged, this enables Nervecentre to function as intended, providing accurate, efficient and reliable information.

The LBS Hub is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and is seeking full time, or part time (minimum 15 hours) administrators who are confident working as part of a small team, often lone working. Shifts are reflective of times of peak demand for the service, which is outside of traditional office hours, at present:
**Monday - Friday**: 15:00 - 23:00, 17:00 - 01:00, 23:00 - 07:00

**Saturday & Sunday**: 07:00 - 15:30, 15:00 - 23:00, 17:00 - 01:00, 23:00 - 07:00

Working patterns are rostered in advance, there is the option to not include nights, or work these exclusively. This will be agreed as part of the recruitment process.

Main duties centre on actioning incoming requests to the LBS hub by inputting patient admissions and discharges on PAS and routinely checking the Nervecentre bed management system to ensure all wards have allocated patients to beds, reaching out to offer support when this is not the case. The LBS Administrator has a can-do attitude, is able to adapt to a fast-paced environment and is confident accurately using IT systems to input data received.

This role is process and data input focussed and involves sustained periods of concentration at a computer screen. Willingness to undertake software specific training and updates is essential, full training and induction is provided.
