An excellent opportunity has now arisen in our established multi-office Accountancy firm for a full-time permanent Trainee Accountant in our Brentwood office. Occasional travel to other offices may be required. The responsibilities of this role will require working in all aspects of the Accountancy profession such as bookkeeping, accounts production and tax. Full training will be given. There will be opportunity for advancement dependent on ability.
**Contracted hours**:40 hours per week
**Holidays**: 25 working days plus bank holidays
**Reporting to the Practice Director, responsibilities will include**:
- In due course, preparing working papers and annual accounts and tax returns for sole traders, partnerships and owner managed SMEs for manager review. Full training will be provided.
- In due course, prepare statutory accounts in accordance with UK FRS 105 and FRS 102 for manager review
- Prepare personal tax returns
- Prepare and submit VAT returns
- Communicating with clients
- Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients
- Work confidently with various computer and accounting software such as Quickbooks.
- Visiting other offices and clients occasionally.
**The individual**
- No Practice experience required but a natural ability with numbers and a desire to work in the accountancy sector is essential
- Friendly disposition and a team player
- Good oral/written English skills
- Effective communicator
- Driver with car would be advantageous

**Salary**: £9.50-£12.00 per hour
