**Core purpose of the role**

The gardens and grounds operation at St Augustine’s Priory require a certain amount of flexibility, particularly where seasonable variations and weather conditions have an impact. This does not change the core job but does require individuals to be prepared to undertake/help out with duties of a more general nature and sometimes outside of normal working hours.

The workload across the Estates Team is substantially scheduled in advance by the Estate Manager. The Estate Manager provides briefing and work allocation at the start of each day and maintains a general oversight of all gardening and grounds activities relying on experienced staff to carry out their duties with the minimum of direct supervision.

You can expect to spend a large amount of time outdoors, quite often the work will be physically demanding, you’ll be expected to work regardless of the weather and you may be asked to operate heavy machinery.

The Estate team work closely to ensure the School’s grounds and gardens are displayed to best effect.

**Job Type**: Permanent
