The position is within BCMA Technology which is focused on automating and modernizing operations while implementing and leveraging cross product shared services opportunities. The position is for an experienced Database Architect who will spend time understandingthe business needs and set up the most appropriate mechanism of storing, organizing, and accessing data needed day to day. You should be passionate about technology and have broad and in-depth understanding of different database technologies, as well associatedinfrastructure/cloud strategies that would underpin them. **Responsibilities**: - With business and technical needs/limitations understood, create an architectural Database strategy for BCMA that is carefully aligned to overall Data Strategy for ICG. This should include patterns for the most common data needs and demand. - Work with BCMA Data Architects to ensure Database and Data strategies are aligned. - Create a set of processes, principles as well as governance for overseeing database build out within BCMA. - Own success - Take ownership of deliverables both individually as well as part of the team. - Mentor cross functional team members - Strictly follow Citi's engineering standards and ensure these are part of any designs/solutions proposed - Operate with a limited supervision - Line Management **Key Technology Skills**: - Expert knowledge and understanding with MS SQL Server/ Oracle with NoSQL being highly desirable. - Data Modelling (Conceptual, Logical & Physical) - Performance optimizations on SQL Server/ Oracle, SQL tuning and investigation of bottlenecks - Advanced knowledge of both SQL Server and Oracle Security models and how to effectively implement them - Advanced knowledge of Database Administration tasks and activities - Ability to translate architecture and low-level requirements to design and code using SQL - Able to design physical data models for insert as well as query performance aligned to business use cases - Hands on SQL features - Stored Procedures, Indexes, Partitioning, Bulk loads, DB configuration, Security/Roles, Maintenance, Exception Handling - Infrastructure (Physical, VM, Cloud) patterns for hosting Database solutions - Exposure to a variety of reporting and query tools. Tableau would be beneficial. **Highly Desirable Technology Skills**: - Knowledge on various MongoDB libraries and APIs for different programming languages and platform - Demonstrate an understanding of the differences between typical relational and NoSQL database development and access methodologies - Experience of Tableau configuration with SQL Server/Oracle. - Working with virtualized SQL / Oracle / MongoDB implementations. - Working knowledge of Snowflake **Education**: - Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience -------------------------------------------- - **Job Family Group**: Technology ------------------------------------------------ - **Job Family**: Applications Development ----------------------------------------------------- - **Time Type**: Full time ----------------------------------------------------- - Citi is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
