**Salary**:Points 2 to 4on the NJC Pay Scale currently £18,516 - £19,264 (FTE) (£9.62 - £10.01 per hour)

**Contract**: Permanent, Various Hours from 4 hours a week to 22 1/2 hours a week.

Montgomery Academy has been on a journey of improvement since April 2016 when it came out of Special Measures. It is currently Requiring Improvement though had a very positive Section 8 inspection in May 2019 where we told to continue embedding the strategies we had already put in place. Leadership was described as a strength of the academy. The reputation of the academy grows year on year with the proportion of parents putting us as first choice rising by 30% this year. We are developing a culture amongst our students of self-regulation specifically being safe, mature, ambitious, respectful and thoughtful. In the last year, we have celebrated serving our community for 60 years since Field Marshall Montgomery officially opened the school in 1959. All staff, students and parents/carers form the Montgomery Family and our family-ethos is the cornerstone of our continual improvement. **Purpose of the role**

To undertake cleaning duties to maintain a high standard of cleanliness within the school, as directed.

**Responsibilities**

Key duties:
1. Undertake cleaning of allocated areas in line with specified standards and as directed;
2. Operate / use domestic and industrial cleaning equipment and materials, following appropriate training;
3. Responsible for storing allocated equipment and materials safely and securely;
4. Perform duties in line with health and safety regulations (COSHH) and take action where hazards are identified, report problems with equipment and serious hazards to line manager immediately;
5. Handle cleaning materials in line with COSHH regulations;
6. Collect and dispose of waste;
7. Refill and replace soap, towels and other consumables;
8. Adhere to safeguarding procedures.

Individuals in this role may also:
1. Undertake specialised cleaning programmes during school closures or other designated periods;
2. Demonstrate cleaning duties to new or less experienced staff;
3. Some responsibility for security of buildings.

**Indicative knowledge, skills and experience**
- Experience of cleaning and using cleaning equipment;
- Basic Numeracy and Literacy skills.
