We are looking to hire a Machine Operator to join the Modern Paper family based at our state-of-the-art facility based in Erith (South East London), as part of the rapid expansion of our business operations. **_Who we are:_** Established in 2020, Modern Paper are one of the fastest growing manufacturing businesses in Erith. We manufacture and produce a range of high-quality tissue paper products supplying to wholesale and retail businesses across the UK. Whilst we are a relatively"new" business to the UK market, we are backed by a large international conglomerate, who have a rich heritage within this sector and bring decades of international experience within the tissue paper conversation business. Our fully equipped, 120,000sq. ft state-of-the-art facility has some of the most advanced, industry-leading equipment, capable of producing 20,000 tonnes of product per annum. **_The role:_** The Machine Operator is vitally important role within Modern Paper operations. You will be responsible to set up and operate highly automated and specialist equipment that performs paper converting functions. The Machine Operator role will work closely within the Engineering, Warehousing and Stock Control functions, so you will have a good level of interface with various aspects of the wider business. **_Some of key responsibilities for the Machine Operator role will involve the following:_** - Operate and ensure that the machine is running at optimum level. - Produce and package products according to specifications. - Identify and react to production problems (raw materials shortages, out of spec materials, quality issues, etc.) - Perform quality checks to monitor physical characteristics of product and take corrective action as needed. - Report on production information including down-time and other completing production shift reports accurately. - Monitor equipment, perform resets, replenish, and troubleshoot assigned area of the line as needed. **_Experience and skills required to be considered for the Machine Operator role:_** - Previous experience working as Machine Operator, Production Operative or Warehouse Operative within a manufacturing, FMCG, industrial, distribution or engineering sector. - High levels of attention to detail, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment - You have a hard-working, committed nature and the desire to work as part of a team to achieve collective goals. - Ability work day and night shifts on a rotational basis. **_Why should you join us?_** **Inclusive and diverse culture, career progression & long-term stability** Whilst we have aspirations to become a big player and household name within the paper industry, we recognise the importance that our people play in achieving this - and that is why we put our people first We have ensured that from day 1, establishing an inclusive and diverse culture as our core value, where individuals from every background feel part of the team.
