**Product Owner**

Location: Lincoln, United Kingdom (on site/hybrid)

**You must be a UK national due to the nature of the tasking and to allow for UK Government security clearance (UKSV) if not already obtained.**

Are you experienced using Agile project management methodologies, working within a scrum team and have a passion for Product Development and Innovation?

We are seeking a talented Product Owner to join our Project Management Office. The Product Owner will be responsible for defining and prioritising product features to maximise value and ensure successful product delivery that play a critical role in ensuring national security and strategic advancements.

This role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about Agile methodologies, eager to learn, and excited to contribute to the success of our varied and interesting projects.

**Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with customers effectively, discover what is needed so that you can envisage the product and provide clarity to the scrum team. Collaborate in Sprint meetings, e.g., sprint planning, definition of done, daily stand-up, and sprint review.
- Structure the product backlog effectively and make thorough preparations for backlog refinement and planning sessions (e.g., sprint planning) to enable the delivery of value to the customer.
- Take ownership of the product backlog, prioritise tasks using the MoSCoW technique, and update the necessary artefacts while working closely with the solution architect and senior stakeholders.
- Effectively communicate product information, product backlogs, and sprint plans to the delivery team, PMO and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment and transparency.
- Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and user metrics to measure the success of products and make data-informed decisions.
- Aid in developing the product vision and contribute to continuous improvement by providing feedback to the PMO on how development is progressing in accordance with the Project Delivery Plan.

**Essential Experience/Skills**:

- Proven experience of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- A collaborative team member, also possessing the individual drive to see tasks through to successful completion.
- The ability to understand and translate customer needs into epics, features, and user stories from which to construct an actionable product backlog.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- A problem-solving mindset with the ability to address challenges creatively.
- Eagerness to take direction, learn from experienced professionals, and contribute actively to the team's success.
- Identify, measure, and maximise value throughout the product’s lifecycle.

**Desirable**:

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
- Hold the Certified Product Owner certificate.
- Familiarity with Agile methods (e.g. prioritisation techniques and stakeholder management.
