Hgv Mechanic Based in Belfast

Calor are currently recruiting a full time permanent **HGV Mechanic based in our Belfast depot.**

**This role will report to the Transport Manager.**

**Duties will include**
- Maintenance of HGV bulk tankers, trailers and forklifts.
- Complete all job cards on a digital garage system.
- Maintain and process daily paperwork and submit at the end of the shift or job.
- Report any vehicle defects and accident damage to the Transport Manager.
- Ordering parts from third party suppliers as required.
- Carry out and record pre use walk around vehicle checks.
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicles - power washing and cleaning cab interiors.
- Refuelling all bulk road tankers as required.
- Load LPG tankers in line with Calor loading procedures.
- Offload LPG in the event of an over-fill in line with Calor procedures.
- Provide on call cover for breakdowns
- Take full tankers to meet core drivers.
- Report any deport defects to depot management.
- Report accidents or incidents to the management as soon as they occur.
- Produce all licences for inspection when requested.
- Adhere to tachograph regulations in relation to driving times and rest periods.
- Download digital tachograph card daily.
- Undertake training in new processes and equipment in line with continuous development.
- Take on new tasks as outlined by the Transport Manager.
- Provide assistance during emergency situations either at the depot or at a customer’s site.
- Perform basic depot checks and housekeeping duties as required.
- Work to a flexible schedule with rota based emergency cover.

**Requirements**:
Education requirement to complete this role:

- Time served mechanic with 5 years experience
- Hold a clean full LGV licence - C or CE categories.
- ADR card in Tankers & Flammable Gases.
- Up to date driver CPC card.
- Digital Drivers card - tachograph card.
- Up to date manual handling trained.
- Health and Safety, awareness and knowledge essential.
- Be safety conscious in driving and handling LPG, wearing of protective clothing and equipment.
- Be familiar with tachograph regulations in relation to driving times and breaks.
- _Flexibility and availability for early and late start and finishing times_
- Excellent communication skills with excellent written and spoken English.
- Professional manner in all communications and contact with colleagues, Calor Employees, customers, other road users.
- Willingness to embrace change and new technologies.
- Good eyesight, colour vision and in general good health.
- Customer focused with a proven track record in dealing and interacting with people in a positive and professional manner is essential.
- IT aware and able to use computerised job card systems.
- LPG industry knowledge.
- ADR knowledge
- Vehicle electrical and air systems
- Experience in digital logistics - using hand held devices.
- Good geographical knowledge of Northern Ireland
