The post holder will work in collaboration with clinical staff and education teams to ensure that the clinical education and development needs to healthcare clinical support workers (CSWs) within the organisation are identified and addressed and facilitated using approved and evidence-based methods. The post holder will be a visible role model in providing clinical support, advice, and guidance to learners under the direction of the Head/Deputy of People Development and will work closely with Practice Development Nurses and the Education, Training and Development Manager for Clinical Support Workers. The Clinical Education Facilitator for CSWs role is an essential part of our workforce as they are at the forefront of patient care and in a unique position to support healthcare needs. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to support and participate in the provision of evidence-based education and training for the clinical unregistered workforce, to ensure they have the required knowledge, skills, and behaviours to deliver high quality and compassionate person-centred care. This role is part of a national initiative to help ensure that clinical support workers feel supported and prepared to work in the clinical environment. You will be responsible for providing evidence-based teaching within the clinical areas and ensuring HCSWs are competent to provide care. This role will support clinical skills and associated competencies within the clinical areas. - To work as part of the team to support the development of the unregistered clinical support worker workforce across the organisation - Teach and deliver the day-to-day running of education programmes as required by the relevant education teams for clinical practice - Liaise with clinical leads (all NMAHP areas), ward managers, practice development and senior leaders to assist them in strengthening work-based learning environments, support and developing CSWs/learners within their relevant roles - Facilitate and deliver relevant education and development, where appropriate and needed - Support the integration and development of those new to the organisation by working closely with them in clinical areas and supervising practice, including providing pastoral support and guidance, clinical sign-off of placement documents, and supporting managers in their effective induction in accordance with the Trust’s induction programme - Facilitate the personal and professional development of staff. This involves identifying training and development needs and providing development opportunities and evaluating development actions for CSWs - Escalating concerns in the clinical areas to relevant leads in the Education teams and/or following the trust escalation flow chart - Provide briefing prior and debriefing after all training and development activities, ensuring that evaluation is used to strengthen and develop education opportunities provided in the Trust Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is a high performing and flourishing organisation serving the population of Hackney, East London, The City and beyond.
