Yard Person

An exciting opportunity has arisen at our Penrith branch for a motivated individual to manage the yard for incoming and dispatching of machinery items.

**THE JOB**
- Actively supporting other team members to ensure targets and tasks are completed.
- Consistently achieve personal targets and consistently assists team members to achieve team success.
- Deliver good working relationships with all team members.
- Promote the business and work to a required standard.
- Follow company procedures to complete major tasks without assistance.
- Work to get routine daily tasks done in time and to the standard required.
- Follow through customer enquiries, requests and problems and deals with them promptly.
- Confidently deal with customer problems and is able to establish customer needs.
- Identify with customers and understand their needs and priorities.
- Be aware of the risks in the work environment and their potential impact on self, colleagues, customers and visitors and take action to address them.
- Liaise with the Machinery Sales Team and 3rd Party hauliers for deliveries.
- Ensure any deliveries required on the van are done in a timely and professional manner.
- Keep the yard tidy, presentable with stock rotation.
- Adhere to Company and Group policies and procedures, including but not limited to those relating to Safety, Health and Environmental.
- To ensure all relevant legislation and approved codes of practice, are adhered to in respect of ongoing compliance, including but not limited to UFAS, FIAS, & NOPS assurance schemes.

**SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALITIES REQUIRED**
- Enthusiastic, takes responsibility and always extremely organised and proactive
- Active listener
- Team player, with a genuine interest in helping others
- Practical problem solver
- Continuously looking to improve the yard areas and displays
- Qualified Forklift Truck and Telehandler Driver with experience in actively loading and unloading vehicles
- Full UK drivers licence so able to do Van deliveries to customers
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to liaise between a number of departments
- Exceptional customer service skills as dealing with many internal and external customers
